Tentsile - Alex Shirley-Smith

This week on the 421 Archives I'm joined by Alex Shirley-Smith, of Tentsile. Alex shares his story on what inspired him to put a tent in a tree and how Tentsile was born. I share some of my personal experiences with a Tentsile tent and camping in the trees. We talk about some environmental conservation issues and what tentsile is doing to help. Tentsile is a 1% for the planet company, and they plant 18 trees for every tent sold.They are also involved with anti-deforestation programs in Madagascar, and other parts of Africa.

The Great Beater Challenge - Peter Brook

This week on the 421 Archive I'm joined by Peter Brook. Peter hosts an event called “The Great Beater Challenge”, a road rally with cheep cars. The rules are simple - the cars must cost less than $700CAD. We talk about how the event came to be and where Peter hopes to take it in the future. We also talk about his upcoming trip to Japan, the car culture there, as well as get some insight into what Mazda is doing for amateur racing.
